Pat had such a lot of time for people. I'll never forget her efforts in recruiting me to be her admin. And it stood me in good stead to where I am now. Leading us to become caravan buddies and meeting some fine people that were Pats friends in the caravan world and had the privilege of celebrating Pats wedding with more of her friends. "John, you have some precious memories to hold on to" as do I. Will never forget this woman, as she contributed so much to all, and for me, it was the start of my career, and not just a boss, but a true friend. Love to all the family. X x x 💛💚💙🩵💜❤️

My thoughts are with John, Carly, Sam, Cate and Raine at this very sad time. Pat was so proud of you all and loved you very much. Pat and I embarked on our drug and alcohol adventure (as we liked to call it!) in the mid-2000s, when we worked together at the Cheshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team. Pat was the Chair of the Young People’s Substance Misuse Group and had a real passion for both educating and improving the lives of children and young people. We immediately bonded over a brew and a biscuit and our determination to make a positive difference. Pat’s extensive knowledge, skills and passion to champion the cause did just that. She always listened and advocated on behalf of others to ensure their voices were heard and was a real inspiration. This was just one element of Pat’s work and she achieved so much during her long career. Pat had a heart of gold and a kind and beautiful soul. She was one of the warmest, funniest and most compassionate and caring people I know. And no-one could work a pair of dangly earrings quite like Pat could too 😉! I will miss Pat’s wisdom, intellect, razor sharp wit, generosity, wicked sense of fun and friendship. You will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know you. Rest peacefully now and know that you were loved more than you could ever imagine. Keep shining like the bright star that you are in our skies at night forever more. Love always Fay xxxxx

This is a little message to everyone who has lost Pat, especially John, Carly and Sam but also of course Cate, Raine, Brenda and all Pat’s family and dearest friends. I know it will have been a terrifically hard and emotional day and just want to send all our love. Sadly, we never knew Pat. I always hoped we would one day but it’s far, far too easy to let time slip by. I have heard nothing but really, really lovely things about her though and know her passing will be an enormous loss to everyone her life has touched. Wishing you all much love at this incredibly difficult time. I hope your most treasured memories will light these first dark months a little. And that all the lovely times spent together with Pat over the years will gradually bring their joy and solace and begin to ease the pain. This Christmas, I put up my candle holders which Pat bought me many years ago and did what I always do, thought of Pat. We always made sure to catch up at Christmas to share all things family, friends and work. I first met Pat when she line managed me in local goverment, her sense of humour, compassion and wisdom was a breath of fresh air. How I will miss my dear friend Pat x

I feel so lucky to have had Pat as my wonderful Stepmum. She made me and Raine feel really welcomed into her family from the very first time we met her - as did her lovely daughter and son, Carly and Sam. She was unfailingly kind, warm and generous to us, vivacious, passionate and fun - and was hugely loved. And she made my Dad very happy - especially as they were lucky enough to have had 19 fantastic years together. It's very hard to imagine the coming days, weeks and years without her in our lives. I think I'll always remember her best the way she looked on their wedding day - she was beautifully elegant in silver and purple, and crowned with a gorgeous hat.... bright and vibrant and so very happy, and surrounded by those she loved. I think that's how she'll always be for me. Rest well, Pat. Love you so much.

How sad to have Pat leave us so soon. We would dearly like to add our heartfelt thoughts about this remarkable lady. The Pat we had the enduring friendship of knowing was a concerned and caring person. Her sense of humour and the values she held were focussed and constant. We came to know a lady, a good friend, possessing a very real and reliable depth of spirit. We are going to miss her greatly.

As soon as we moved onto Westbrook Pat became a good friend. When Kat was born and then Will, she became Auntie Pat. She’ll always be Auntie Pat x

Mum, I still can't believe you are not here. I hope you know that you were an amazing Mum. I hope you know how much I love you. I hope you know that you were my best friend and my hero. I was so proud of you always but never more so than in the last two years, you underwent cancer treatment with huge positivity, you took care of Gran, and we lost Gran. Throughout all of this you protected us all and tried to make us feel better, you always put everyone else first. I hope that I am half the woman you were; because that would be bloody amazing.
